All the work, none of the gain
December 21st, 2006
So, looks like I’ll be a couple thousand short of super-elite status on Air Canada. That’s really frustrating because to fly 98000 miles is no small feat and it’s stupid to come so close and miss out on the benefits (such as being able to use airmiles to book reward flights at a moments notice). Oh well, it will work out or not as the fates dictate (maybe my €50 blessing will push me over the edge) — I can’t actually do any more flying because (a) I want to actually spend some time with Karen and (b) I am already flying 3 times between now and the end of the year.

Turns out - I was doing the math - unfortunately because some of the air mile bonus is not considered status miles, I’m about 7000 miles short of where I needed to be. That’s good though because I won’t even be close so I won’t be tempted to do something stupid. However, I do have about 300,000 air miles to spend so Karen and I had better get using them.
